Google has released a new update for Google+, very similar to the recent timeline update for Facebook. Although making a nice change to what was a very plain looking social networking site, Google+ as with Facebook causes some issues for companies promoting their site, as many haven’t updated their new cover photos or decided on their profile layouts.
Unlike Facebook there was no warning before this update otherwise we would have made sure to prepare you for these changes.

Here are some tips on getting your Google+ page representing your company professionally:
Unfortunately the dimensions for the profile page and the cover photo are not the same as Facebook so although you can still use these images for both they will need to be tweaked slightly for the best look.
1) Profile Picture
When designing or choosing a cover photo for your account first you should decide whether a cover photo is the best look for your page. Google + lets you choose between two layouts for this area of your page:

Other than these changes to Google, the most recent update only brings visual differences, there are no major functionality changes, so as long as the profile image and cover photo are changed that should be it for your changes to Google+… for the next few months anyway.
